Who We Are

The uOttawa Sports Business Club is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2014 by a group of Masters of Human Kinetics students who shared a common passion for sports business. Since its creation, the uOSBC has spiked in growth and has expanded the Club’s Committee to provide more students with exceptional experiences. Our team unites all students at both the Masters and Undergraduate levels in a variety of different faculties to volunteer their time to a sport driven organization that aims provides other students with chance to discover the incredible world of sports business.

Our Mission

With a strong presence both on and off campus, our mission is to engage and unite university students and young professionals who share a common interest in learning about the modern business of sport as well as apply our academic knowledge to real world situations related to the sport business industry. Our mission is built upon three core values:

Sport is our passion and business is our playing field. Our driving force is our passion to work in the sport business industry. We are hungry to develop invaluable networks and provide optimal career-oriented experiences to others.

The importance of the uOSBC being student-run is our pinnacle. Founded and led by students, we are committed to providing the most game-changing opportunities to learn and engage in the sport business industry.

As the uOSBC we hold ourselves accountable to representing the University of Ottawa and our club with integrity and reverence in professional, academic and sporting environments.

Our Vision

We aspire to be the best student-run organization, not just within the University of Ottawa, but within the city of Ottawa, for young sport business professionals to enhance their skills and opportunities in the industry.
